Resilience in water and food supplies represent two major elements of the Kingdom's efforts towards a secure and sustainable future. The Hydrology, Agriculture and Land Observation (HALO) group seeks to address key elements of this challenge. We utilize CubeSats, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and other novel techniques to monitor terrestrial processes, combining these with modeling and statistical approaches to understand and predict system behavior. Improving our description and understanding of the water-food nexus is a key objective. One of HALOs aims is to provide real-time and relevant information streams that aid in the decision support of water and food systems. Through using such approaches, we can provide an improved capacity to manage, monitor and predict agricultural water use, health and yield.
