Recent work on the international LandFLUX project, part of the Global Energy and Water Exchanges (GEWEX) Data and Assessment Panel (GDAP) efforts to develop consistent and observationally based records of global energy and water cycle variables, was presented at the European Geophysical Union's recent conference, held in Vienna during April 2013. Prof McCabe presented his groups work on evaluating multi-model estimates of global land surface heat fluxes, identifying some of the challenges and opportunities in providing this key dataset to the hydrological and climate science community.
