Yoann Malbeteau

Postdoctoral Fellows
Post-Doctoral Fellow, Environmental Sciences and Engineering

Dr. Malbeteau received his MSc degree and PhD in the field of remote sensing in hydrology from the University of Toulouse in France. During his PhD, he spent a year at the University of Marrakech (Morocco) in collaboration with the French national research institute for sustainable development. He was involved on water related projects (e.g. crop irrigation management by multi-sensor remote sensing approach). Yoann joined KAUST in September2017.

Research Interests

Yoann's research interests aim to understand the continental hydrologic cycle and its interactions with the anthropogenic, atmosphere and climate influences. By taking advantage of multi-sensor remote sensing observations (satellites, UAVs) and land surface models, his studies focus on the development of new methods to estimate evapotranspiration and agriculture water use at high spatio-temporal resolutions. Most of his research takes place at local to regional scale in semi-arid regions.
